The announcement comes after two successful testing of their new starting line warming ponchos and blankets at the 2015 Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K in Chicago this past March and the 2015 Boston Marathon earlier this week.
Since Heatsheets’ launch at the 1980 New York Marathon, the company has stressed the importance of post-race warming to stave off injury and hypothermia. However, a runner’s ability to keep their body and muscles warm prior to the start of the race is challenging as pre-race wait times can be notoriously long, sometimes up to four hours. Heatsheets starting line gear serves to help runners stay warm and protected from the elements during this time.
