AFM Heatsheets®, the leading manufacturer of reflective insulation fabrics to keep people protected and comfortable in virtually any weather, is excited to celebrate 36 years at the TCS New York City Marathon, happening Nov. 6, 2016.
Heatsheets is proud of the history and continued partnership with the race, as the New York City Marathon was the first world marathon major to distribute its finish line blankets in 1980.
“Protecting and celebrating with the runners of the New York City Marathon is an honor,” said Heatsheets President Chris Falk. “We continue to produce innovative products to protect individuals from inclement weather conditions and have become a trusted staple in the running industry. And we don’t take that for granted. We thank our supporters, staff, and most importantly – members of the running community – we look forward to serving you for more years to come.”
The company continues to experience sustained growth. Earlier this year, Heatsheets announced the expansion of its product line to better serve the public safety sector. As part of the expansion, the company announced that it would be supplying the New York City Police Department, the largest municipal police department in the United States, with products from the emergency line to stock in police response vehicles.
The New York City Marathon has grown from a Central Park race with 55 finishers to the world’s biggest and most popular marathon in the Unites States.
Heatsheets products work by harnessing natural energy sources such as body and solar heat to protect against heat, wind, rain, and cold. Utilizing proprietary Silver Lining® technology, originally adapted from radiant barrier technology developed by NASA. Heatsheets products reflect up to 90 percent of a person’s body heat back to the wearer, or can be flipped to deflect external heat sources, allowing you to remain comfortable in any weather condition.
