The three-race event marked the 40th anniversary of the Grandma’s Marathon in Duluth, Minn. and brought out 8,500 people from all around the world. The course is USATF certified and has been known to be an ideal course for first time participants as the terrain is relatively flat with some gently rolling hills and a larger incline just before mile 22.
The runners are greeted by yellow balloons that mark each mile in the 26.2-mile race. Despite many weather warnings, the runners were still able to finish the race strong.
