Heatsheets remembers a long-time volunteer, fellow marathoner, and most importantly our friend, Joe Johnson, who passed away last Friday at the age of 76.
Joe was a former Marine, who also volunteered in the 9/11 recovery effort in New York. When he wasn’t swimming or running races himself, he could always be counted on to lend a hand at Heatsheets events.
“I have lots of stories about Joe. But I will remember him first, as a true friend who accepted everyone…and who always thought about the other person before he thought of himself.” said Heatsheets founder David Deigan.
The thoughts of the Heatsheets team are with his family and loved ones.
